Nothing happened this weekend Mini wise due to me agreeing to give my ex wifes Citroen Acadiane van (like a 2cv) a check over and full service. In Lewis' own words "IT WAS A RIGHT PAIN" Very low compression on 1 cylinder (it only has 2) which is down to broken piston rings

I got the drivers outer sill delivered today and fitted it this afternoon,so thats all the underside welding done......YIPPEE.. While the shell was on its side I also gave the underside of the boot floor a coating of Hammerite underseal and when this it dryish (it never does dry properly) I'll refit the rear subframe. Lewis and me are off for a day trip to London tomorrow so will be back at it on Thursday.

TTried to have a grease free clean day today,so thought it best to fit the drivers seat from the pair of Rover 214 seats that I've got. It is now bolted solid to the floor as the original height adjustable subfame was to tall even when lowered right down so it was removed.I also made a steering column drop bracket to suit the new seat. Sorry for the lack of pictures but my lappie charger has died again and I'm posting from my phone.

Well this weekend I've...... Fitted the passenger seat, its a bit high but fine for the 11 year old co-driver. Cleaned and painted the top arms and fitted new knuckles. Cleaned the back seat and made a new parcel shelf trim from 3mm plastic. Replaced the NSR wheel bearing. Repaired the front top shock mounts. Painted the front seat crossmember. Now I'm waiting for all the new bits to arrive....... New front cones. 1.5 deg bottom arms. Adjustable tie rods. Front G-max shocks. Polybushes. Longer track rod ends. New OS swivel hub.
We'll be busy next weekend,no Royal wedding for me.

Last weekend was a weekend off and a chance for Lewis to get back on his mountain bike after a racing injury. This weekend we have collected a cone compressor from Dean (Minibottcher) so that we can fit the new front cones and adjusts rides.Cheers Dean. So today we have ..... Repaired the lower front edge of the n/s inner wing. Finished painting the engine bay. Fitted the n/s front cone, knuckle and adjustaride. Cleaned, painted, greased and fitted new boots to the o/s drive shaft. cleaned, painted and fitted a new disc to the o/s drive flange.
Now just waiting for a eBay numpty to put the correct address on a o/s swivel hub (been waiting 2 weeks now) and then that side of the subframe will be built up.
We will get a few odd bits at L2B next weekend, onwards onwards.

The numpty managed to get the address right and the swivel hub was delivered today which coincided with me having the day off after working last night,so this afternoon was spent in the garage fitting it with new swivels and wheel bearings and then a refurbed drive shaft and new disc.

We went to the L2B Sunday to get the bits to complete the front subframe which is now ready to go back in and stay in this time.We also got the clutch slave cyilnder and flexi hose and it appeers the Metro engine had a cable clutch so we will need to get a shorter arm a slave cylinder mounting bracket. We also got 2 repair kits for the rear radius arms but will need to borrow a 13/16" reamer for the bronze bushes.Does anybody have one ?. The engine and subframe will go back in this weekend when the apprentice comes to stay.

I have the right size ream for the bronze bush. I borrowed the blind bearing puller from a club member. I have been on the look out for 1 at a good price.
