I think I will have to get electric ignition next as the points are a bit old hat. probably going to go for one of them luminition kits.
BHP was 82-85 at Geralds Rollers back in the Autum so I hope it will have the magic 100 now

Would highly recommend the luminition kits, its money well spent and no more point issues ! I would certainly be pleased with the magic 100 if it was my car.... Ant

i think if your goin to stick with the carb id go for aldon electronic dizzy, i got a 123 dizzy for mine and gerald dale wouldn't touch its adjustable advance when i got mine set up apparently he hates them, he told me that the aldon dizzy is by far better, however iv decided to go fuel injection now. good to see another supercharged mini ;D its such an addictive noise!

Funny you should say that about the 123 ignition Stuart at VMAX wont touch them either.
I have spent most of the day on the phone to VMAX & Aldon trying to sort out a new distributor in the end I ordered one of their new spec scupercharged setups based on the red dizzy with a vac advance for supercharged setup designed for 8-8.5 CR. Hopfully this will be ok. I also ordered there ignition module at the same time so once I get it fitted it will be off to Stuarts for a session on the rollers.
Whats the spec on yours Matt and what is the power output?

at the moment im under power i only got 101bhp at geralds at the edmc rollers however i did hav 107bhp at the begining of last year, the main loss of power is down to my dizzy as you said stuart at vmax don't touch them iv also been talkin to him about goin injection however im waiting for ecu to arrive he seems to think that i would see a figure of 130bhp-140bhp running a 52mm throttle body. but my engine spec is 1293cc, 9cc decompression plate, stage 3 hea,d sw5 cam and duplex timing chain, 1.5 high lift rockers, turbo pressure plate and racing clutch plate. standard gearbox central oil pickup and xpin diff and 3.1 final drive. would be interesting to see what yours makes is it 1380cc? what cc decompression plate you using? matt

Mine is a 1330 with a 8cc pistons head is 19cc and the pistons are 6.5mm down the bore. decomp plate is 1.8mm and using 2 bk450 head gaskets. I havent worked out the exact CR yet but I guess its between 8 & 8.5 all my measurements are aprox (accept for the head & pistons) hence the estimated CR
Head is stage III but I cant remember the valve sizes all I can remember is the exhausts are larger than most stage III heads and the inlets are either 35.5 or 36 I have it all written down at home.
Cam is an unknown quantity but I would guess its a 276 or similar spec going on how it performs and the characteristic on the RR.
Block is an A-Series and was built by Swaymar back in 83 but has seen very little use so I guess all the parts are what were the best back in '83. I would love to go injection but only just learning the finer details of carbs and distributors maybe in a few years time I will go for it.

Thinking about it but just cant bare to drill the shell The other option I'm hoping might work is S-Reverse Rims on standard S Discs? but I hear they may stick out just as much as the MB's not sure though as the MBs are 6*10 where as the reverse rims are 4.5*10. so i'm on the lookout for a car with that setup or a spare reverse rim and trye so I can check it out myself. Ok, how about changing the outer rims for narrower versions? You gotta keep the MBs!
