So thankfully it was nice and dry on Saturday which enabled me to fit my brace. Before Remove these nuts with a 13mm socket Note the new nuts are different they are sleeved to fit inside the brace Fit tr brace and adjust it to fit with a 17mm spanner my one tip is to use tape so you dont scratch it like this So once it is fitted and everthing tightend up it should look like this Job only took about 30 mins including all the adjustment not that it needs much adjustment as this is designed to fit straight out the box although I think it will rub a bit on the top of the air box and the rubber bulkhead trim Anyway looking at it, it adds a nice bit of bling to the engine bay... does it improve things... maybe only done about 100 miles with it fitted and it may be improving things slightly but that could just be the placebo effect N

Mileage now 80008. So last week I got the three dashboard lights warning lights come up run flat, ABS & traction control indicating a failed speed sensor so I after investigation it looked like a NSF sensor so I thought I would take it out, clean it and see if that improved things only problem was the sensor was stuck in fast and snapped when I tried to remove it big problem so I bought a replacement sensor £101!!! I tried drilling it and extracting it from the top of the hub with a self tapper crow bar / slide hammer but no joy So this morning I set about drilling it out but had to remove the wheel bearing first for access One removed I cleaned the hole but it was so badly corroded that I could not get the new sensor it so I had to re drill the hole first with 11mm then 11.5mm and finally a 12mm drill bit before the sensor would fit freely. Then just the job of reassembly with anti seize Oh what fun so it total I wasted about 4 hours on this including the initial brakeage of the sensor and failed attempt at top removal but quite pleased as I think £101 got a genuine sensor and no labour bill was quite good. I know I could have got a cheaper non OEM sensor off eBay but have heard sometimes these dont work so just went with a genuine one to be safe Here's the offending failed sensor Lets just hope I don't have any more failures Neil

As most of you know I'm a bit of a wheel-sleeper and after looking for best part of a year I finally found the Holy Grail of wheels... Genuine BBS RS 003s! I had to drive half way accross the country and pay top money for them but they are probably the one of the rarest RS wheels. They are one of the only 16" RS wheel avaliable in 4x100 PCD and should fit without the need for a redrill or adapters. Just need to get some tyres sorted now but still looking at options on sizes. Got a couple more runflats on order for the 17s that should come in tomorrow so while I get them fitted I will be talking to my tyre man about options. I need a bit of strech but not too much also I need to fit valves so need to think about options there. Enjoy.

Looking at that last picture you can see there is still a bit of polising to be done but they are 90-95% show condition already. I dont ever expect to get them to show standard but just keep them in nice usable condition. After all I would be scard to get them dirty if they were perfectly mirror polished.

Very nice, not sure I'd want to run them on a daily driver though... I had bbs's on one of my Mk2 Golfs and they are a pain to keep clean!!

I know what you mean the car originally came with bbs lm reps and they were a moo poo cow to keep clean
Actually thinking of retiring the car in the next year or so as the milage is starting to get a bit high. Would be nice to have it as a weekend car and get some hydraulic / air bagged suspension

You have a pick up layer up
A Porsche for weekends
And now your bini.
First build a bigger garage. Ha ha
Sounds like you need a diesel engined car. Which cost lless to run and will do more miles on the engine before it goes bang.
Or you could go buy Toyota prius

Lol yes probably going to be cutting down on my car collection at some point but there are so many nice cars out there!!!
That's given me an idea for a new thread on cars you want to own before you die

I'd recommend 205/45s although I've found my speedo reads out as they have a smaller rolling circumference.
Ditching the runflats will transform it.
