Maybe... have a loob at my MB's without arches in the pickup thread they are 6x10's and stick out about 1.5" so presumably 5x10's would stick out less (depending on offset) they may even be cooper S offset which would be perfect.
Only way to find out is fit them to a disc brake car.

cut it out and weld it up. Also, be careful with the red oxide stuff- rust can still lurk underneath, sometimes making the problem worse.

Expanding foam!!! hahah that really is a lovely bodge!
Stephen thanks for the advice, i know about the oxide and rust beneath it, in the pictures, where i have dabbed the bodywork with the oxide, I used a grinder to take them back to bare metal, not just the wire brush on the drill attachment seen in the photos.
Definitely going to be going down the welding front, probably going to cut a section out of the outer panel, and then see what lurkes beneath that, if its fine, im going to seam weld a new plate to the outer panel, and butt weld along the bottom to the inner panel..
How does that sound?

Ooops! Yeah not the neatest is it! oh well!!!! Although the metal wasn't that solid Then did some grinding back! Work in progress!!! Need to get some metal, I'll source some locally sometime this week, I'm really wanting to get it back to being a rolling shell at some point!

Time to Dismantle some more stuff...AM I EVER GOING TO BE PUTTING THINGS BACK ON AND DRIVING IT!!!! well, on today's agenda it was Driveshaft's and hubs and disks! -so here is the first glimpse of my cooper S 7.5Inch setup! All apart: it took 1 and a half hours to get one of the castle nuts off, and 2 mins to take the other one off! Here are the disks, I'm 2 minds about cleaning these up and reusing them...or getting some new ones. Shimmed up the ball joint it was pretty loose This took a while to get off, had to use a special socket with teeth on it to grip the bugger! - obviously going to get a new one, I imagine they are specially high tensile, as they hold the calliper on! Im not gonna clean them up much to be honest, they'll get messy again in about 2 weeks of driving!

PLAN!! try and get the car back on wheels as a temporary measure (No torque settings, not all bolts done up etc etc. >_< >_< ) so she can be rolled into the garage for the winter  , so I imagine this thread will go dead for a long while, not that there's much going on here anyway! :- anyway did a bit more! loosely attached the suspension, considering new bottom arms, they really aren't in the best nick... Then I cleaned up the outside CV joint...came up really well, have new boots and grease for them when the time comes. Going to put these wheels on the front, where I've taken the front arches off, this is to see if I can run them archless.

Right then, Made some progress, measured my idler bearing clearance and its WAAAAYYY too big, 12thou I measured on a DTI, so im going to measure up my thrust washers and figure out what I need when Martin from MRA recommends as an end float for his straight cut drops. I also sorted my support bearing and pushed the new idler bearing into the transfer case. Following that though I did this: Which led to this: and this: I also re-did my tappet chest covers, wasnt happy with the seal so reverted back to the old method with the holder, But the bolt i had was too small, so I found a couple of longer ones: Trial fitted my Head and rockers: Put my head gasket on, look at how much metal there is where a 1275 would be cylinders Left it looking like this: (The head is not attached, think I might get some new head studs, the transfer case is only attached by interference on the dowels, obviously cant be attached due to the idler issue: Well what do we think of progress now? Nice too see it starting to come together after sitting in various large bits all over the house.
