OK, update, Ive just bought Twin HS2's havnt pictured yet. Going to go over to Swiftune have a word with them, probably end up with an SW5-07 cam shaft and Duplex timing etc. Still having to think hard about the Dashboard work and the interior in general, hard to get that classic Works Rally Look,

Ok well the engine has moved on a little bit, Specs become a little more outragous, aquired a few goodies on the way, like.. and this and these So, this is the Donor Engine: A very late 998 A+ engine, Milage covered: Unknown So i started pulling her apart until this: Slowed me down considerably. But in the end the engine looks like this: And i think the Crank nose looks in Bloody good nick, The gearbox doesnt look that great... What do guys make of those marks on the Gear teeth? i think some metals been floating around, wondering when i rip the box apart if im going to run into a "FUN" suprise!! Ohhh..and i forgot to mention i lost my temper with the Radiator and Engine mount bracket so i took my revenge with a grinder..

You wouldn't be the first to lose your temper with the rad mountings....though I've yet to cut one off! Installing rads/bottom hoses = personal Mini hate.....I guess most of us have one! M

I take it your a fan then Si? Ive been looking into it for ages, and decided to take the plunge, i cant really see the down side of the system, its pretty much perfect for any type of mini and gets rid of those wet start issues and having a mappable ignition has to be a good move especially for squeezing more power out!! anyone else in the club got MJ?? wondering where they got their maps done..

Oh mate, Bottom hoses, they are just designed to test us, never have a i come accross something so hard to get at, and once you do get at it, something so d**n hard to undo! usually ends up in the Hack saw and a new hose! This bracket was completely siezed it was an utter joke, tried everything, ended up with just a piece of metal cut off at the same level as the bracket but strecthing all the way through the Aluminium in the Gearbox, no matter how much i punched there was no choice, the grinder was the only option.

So my Gearbox Looked like this Yesterday Morning: And now this: And i hope i remember where all this lot goes: This is my Main Double Roller Bearing lucky i noticed that: This top hat thing caused me a headache when the Haynes just says remove it, what they really mean is get a bigger hammer! This was the wear underneath it, im not overly happy with it how bad does it look? Also Removed my Oil gallery plugs, i just tapped them and when the tap reached the end of the bung the whole plug started to rotate i just kept turning and pulling and they popped out really easily! they had alot of muck behind them This is the Oil gallery through the block when both plugs are removed My diff losely put back together roll pin came out in the end, had to get the propper sized punch!! So not to bad ive started to clean up the Gears and stuff, il get some pics on later how they look cleaned up!
