as everyone else has a diary on there mini i through i join in
i have a 1965 mini but in a mark4 shell which i do not like, its made to look like a mark 1, with a rear light convertion and bonnet and grill
but not for long
i am picking up a 1962 rolling mark 1 on saturday reg jjm 888 but the dvla have it, dam
i am hoping to see if i can get that reg off the dvla if not i use my 1965 c reg log book, i have the engine sorted, just got to put it all back together now, ( i enjoy that bit) i going to use the seats clocks ect from the other mini as the mark 4 shell was a look like cooper s, except the door cards as mark 1 are different
my engine
1275 bored to 1293 ae 21253 pistons with a 10.1:1 compression ratio balanced crank and clutch ported and polished mark 3 cooper s head, unleaded seats, new springs, valve guides 1.5.1 keith dodd rockers SW5 cam dulpex timing lightweight flywheel and back plate 4 syncro Straight cut gears, total rebuilt up rated baulk rings. mini spares 4 pin diff 3.44 ratio jack knight 1:1 straight cut drop gears, special tuning H4 carbs, ( like on works cars) rc40 with lcb all painted in green oil coller
also cooer s 7.5 brakes and mini fins at the back
i am planning to get the shell welded and painted and back together for l2b in may, its a tight dead line,
as soon as know how to post photos i will,
i keep you posted

its going to be armon green and a white roof,as my seats are green and grey , so irt would look crap if the car was blue or red with the wrong colour seats
i am selling my mark 4 rolling shell i have done most of the welding just the rear valance to put on,( which i have) and a odd clean up , ,then a respary, its a mark 1 look a like , just got to get the bits i need for my mark 1 and its up for sale, you have to source an engine and interiar but its a good soild shell.
can not wait TILL tomorrow 8:30 picking up the trailer and off to london

right hear it is , it looks abit sorry for itself but it very soild, the floor still look like the orignal ones. the only welding i have to do looks like the front end and having the doors sorted, they are even the ones that come with the car, i have most of the bits everything matches to the heritage certificate, chassis number, engine number, body number, colour, which is under that orange colour you can see it on the floor and in the engine bay, the roof gutters are soild no rust rot, no thing, 45 YEARS old and it very good, sills good, around the windows, rear panel are good just rust down the seams. there is a few dents and scratches, but for a 45 year old car its very good, it must of been garaged, i have the orignal wiper motor which is stamped 62, the year if the car, i have the orignal engine still in the car it has not got a head but i have everything else in boxes, the speedo still reads 13950.3 i think its been off the road for more than 25 years as it was not put on the dvla computers back in 1983 when they computerised everything, thats why i have no v5c but i have contacted british mini club and sorting out authenticise to try to get it back
