right been a little busy,
i sand blasted my hubs and calipers, gave the hubs a coat in zinc spray, 2 coats of red oxide and 3 coats of black spray.
and also given the caliper 2 coats of silver caliper paint that i pick up on ebay cheap,
built the hubs up with ball joints only the wheel bearings to go.
and put in new seals and stainless steel piston in the calipers and 2 new bleed nipples.
body work wise, i was not happy to put one of those 9" boot repair section in, it will look messy, and will do my head in once it painted, so i splashed out for a total new boot floor which extends to the rear seat and includes the battery box. genuine heritage panel.
so a drive up to moss in london, £121 and i have a nice new floor that will fit,
drilled out near to 100 spot welds to remove the old floor and rear seat, but its out , just got to clean up all the edges and weld up areas that need sorting before i put the new panel in, then out with the spot welder to make a nice clean joint, also got hold of some weldable primer to all the exposed joints will be covered to stop the rust.
so tomorrow sort everything and see how well it line up

well here are a few photos of the work i did while i was off the other week also i have pulled the bearings out my top arms and radius arm, (thanks martin for the puller) so they can have the same treatment before   all blasted   all built up , wheel bearings are also in now  all done with new seals and pistons  and also my 5 ROSEPETAL wheels turned up today after a 5 mouth wait, but well worth it, cost a fair bit, but will look better once they are on the car  this is a cooper s, but the same look as mine, fiesta yellow, white roof, and rosepetals  |

this is what mine will be like once its done, fiesta yellow, white roof , rosepetals, but not with the race stickers and roll cage, with normal bumpers with out over riders and corner bars    Dave i never knew you were racing at goodwood, thought you said you went on the bike  |

Although there was loads of inspiration ideas I got from Goodwood for revamping the MK1

i will be i am going to make sure from now on that a do something on it every day, even if its just paint up a few bits up , every little helps to get it back on the road, but the body work is the main priority.
