Found my mini in the garage today... think I'll cancel the insurance policy for a while... Might as well save the money. A simple engine change is leading to a long term project..

Its the time to sort out all the other bits in the engine bay. Getting an alternator to sparkle is jolly hard work.

Dropped into Stuart Gurr's unit today. Should have my engine and gearbox back for the end of August.
My ebay skills found an almost unused KAD quickshift this week. It arrived yesterday, Josie had to stop me from putting it on Matilda to try it out.
Back to now, just got to start cleaning bits up now, anyone got a desktop chemical cleaning and shot blast cabinet, I could borrow for a few weeks? ;D

Well things are cracking on, just sorted out the final spec of the engine build, picking up the engine just before Castle Coombe, so it will not make it this year Doubt it will be ready for the rolling road Like most things, lack of time and money are delaying. Hope to get stage two of the project under way in the the next month too.... ;D de-rusting and sorting out the rust!

Was going to collect the phantom engine last week, not ready yet...! So I've put him back to the 22th of Feb while I sort out my new lock up. Dropped in an ebay engine '17,000' at the weekend. Its looks more like 170,000miles on it! Thank you Paul for helping me collect it! Jim... you have your lifting tool back Saturday. ;D Got the engine in and working Tuesday evening, just bolting back on the bits and pieces to get the car an MOT next week. Looking forward to having her back on the road

Spent some more time on the poor girl Friday. finished bolting back together the drive train and got the wheels go. battery was dead so had to borrow the ducks. 95% road ready now. Went around the block with Paul and quickley discovered a few loose wheel nuts All running fine now, and maybe the ebay engine is only 17K. The gearbox has that nice gearbox whine and not a single oil leak. But sadly the radiator is leaking so a replacment is in order. Ebay is £30, new £100, performance £200... Performance it is, thats no more beer until April now ;D ;D MOT next week, here I come... Dave?
