And you wonder why I've not fitted it? I'm going to trade it in for his latest bits, he's now got a stainless inlet and manifold. Looking for a turbo clutch and diaphragm now ;D

yeah, i think they would be an improvement and you will be happier with the new bits, also i think the emerald injection a very good idea, more power and a lot more control over mixture and ignition. expensive, yes, but may save you a few future engine rebuilds!

Hmmm, after a quote for £700 from emerald I've been looking into alternatives, Polestar is interesting, especially as it was developed for the A series from the start. But thats £550 all in. Software is not as well presented and doesn't seem to be compatible with my Rover alarm/immobiliser.
Any other suggestions?

yep, i agree with neil, there are loads of resources for megasquirt on the net these days, i'm sure a man of your calibre could work it all out! Thats the beauty of emerald though, it's all been worked out and will work with the rover mems stuff also.

Finally got my car back from my Mum. Saturday afternoon lead into the night for preparations to go to Brooklands. First stop was the jet wash and a good twenty minutes of blasting the underside.. built up a que of 4 cars for the jet wash after men Think my mum has a secret rally fetish and sneaked my car over to the mud sections of a RAC special section ;D Next was the rear bumper; which had acquired a flat spot from a car park foot high post I gave up freeing the nuts and ended up just pulling it off. So I found some replacement nuts and washers for the new bumper. Why are they not just included with the bumper? ? So I go to fit the bumper and the tappet pixies stole the set of nuts and washers!!!!!!! ;D I spent another hour looking for three nuts!! I stole them off a couple of carbs in the end. Next was replacing the rusting chrome wheel nuts... last seasons. From a small collection I managed to get a full set of nuts which still looked bling, which reminds me... must get a set of s/s nuts from Caburn Classics Then to the electrical gremlins.. Wipers not parking and a squawk from the wiper delay controller when the wipers do park... Wiper parking problem first, easy... just a slight water corrosion on the plug into the wiper motor. Cleaned and greased. Bit of fiddling under the dash I a found the wiper controller. No sign of water corrosion so suppose I'll just get a new one as its making a worrying noise. Jacked up the backend, backed off the hand brake adjustor's, tightened up the cable, two clicks on the hand break, adjusters till the wheels are braked, hand brake off and check for semi free rolling wheels and off I went for a bit of hand brake turning ;D Great to get the hand brake effective again!! ;D ;D All went well at Brooklands, cruising on the M25 at 50mph watching the world go by, to three figures on the camera ship trail, Its good to have my car back Worrying is my water leak from the scuttle panel either side of the windscreen. Thats going to have to be repaired ASAP!! Gutters look brown at the back, guess that needs a tidy up too!! Oh dear bungle!! Will I get it done in-time for Riveria!?!? ;D

I replaced my steering rack this weekend. Reminds me why I hate doing that job now!! I borrowed a tracking plate to set it back up... My faithful assistant... Josie, disappeared to see some family. So I engineered a mirror to check the near side settings... Good fun!

What Simon failed to mention was that we didnt have a portable mirror in the house ...... until he removed the bathroom cupboard one! Took me a short while to realise where it came from!
