Well......... Matilda was last used in October/November 2010 when we had the club photoshoot at Beachy Head and was put into storage in a friends garage shortly after that .
We had to go and get her back which was a bit earlier than expected as we do not have any further alternative storage ready but she had been there about 18 months . Our friend had the battery on charge a couple of times over that time but not started her up. I went armed with tools , a battery pack and a fuel can . Took all the covers off and she still looked great. On went the battery terminal I jumped in and she started on the button first turn of the key. ;D . One beauty of a fuel injected Mini I guess .
Drove her out the garage and the Pearlesent Amaranth Purple looked spanking in the sun .
I put a fresh can of fuel in and I drove it to work for a pre arranged Mot on Monday . I only needed to replace a "rough when rotated" rear hub bearing . A front swivel was advised but I need to go through the car anyway due to it being stored for so long and the fact we are driving her to the South of France again in September . Going to take her to Thruxton for weekend in August when we go to see the Mini Racing, so she will get a good run then. Josie cant wait to drive her again.
