You said you checked them & they were definatly blown! I'm sure of it. No , I said I'll go and check... after tiding up the garage and digging out the gearbox I was forced to sit down for some fine food and drink lovingly prepared by her in doors. Hence I dug out the haynes manual with the wiring diagram and said there's no fuse.... I sure it is two blown bulbs after water ingress from the scuttle rust.

Matilda did get her new number plate when I mot'd her in 2008 but by 2009 she was so rusty a MOT pass was unlikely due to corrosion so she was taken off the road as a full body restoration was decided upon . Work started in summer 2009 and today she passed her MOT.
Still got a few little bits to complete before we are happy to use her on the road . Her first big outing is to the South of France in September .
Josie has details and loads of pics (some shocking) to follow .

From this [] To this . You can see the ground half way along the boot floor! At the end of the day it was not that bad .......... thats if saying that the only part of the shell that was not welded was the roof that is All sections of the shell had welded repairs of some sort except the roof . New front end , scuttle , boot floor , rear quarter repairs , rear valance, main floor repairs , sill repairs , door steps, A panels , boot hinge panel , door hinge posts replaced , inner wing repairs , offside door skin . Remember , this was a bodyshell that apart from the rusty scuttle and small scabs around the wings looked apparantly ok . More pics to come .

Heritage shells start to look good value if you had to pay for someone to do that lot!

Heritage shells start to look good value if you had to pay for someone to do that lot! Thankfully even with the paintjob it did not cost as much as a new shell . After seeing the high mileage Equinox bags of poo for sale at Castle Combe for £3500 plus and full of rust and dodgy paint I am happy that Matilda was worth what Josie spent on her to get her in perfect condition . The genuine front suspension springs are already knackered and rubbing the arch . They have not been on there long , just a few thousand miles but as Keith Calver from Minimag says even the genuine springs from Rover do not last long and he is not wrong there . The things to fit are uprated Minispares items made by a company involved in Formula 1 . These uprated items last longer without giving a hard ride apparantly . I have a pair for Micramini which look like they may end up on Matilda .

Not sure what sills you put on but the car jack would not go in its locating hole in the sill because it was too small ? Not best pleased when I found that out on in the middle of France .
