The wheels are painted and lacquered so I'll be dropping them and the tyres off after work at LMW at West Ham for fitting.

Also,I did a trial fitting of one of the alloys on the rear and it stuck out slightly too much,a quick measure showed that the inner rim of the 5" alloy wheel is 10mm further outset than 4 1/2" standard 12" steel wheel. This means the outer rim is 22mm further outset compared to the standard steel wheel so I may need to change to early rear drums without built in spacers to try to inset the rear wheels a bit.

They do stick out a bit and the clearance between the tyre and shock is increased. 12" standard steel wheel and 165/60 tyre. Attachments:

The group2 arches just about cover them so i'll be trying some old style drums with seperate thin spacer to work out the clearance I want. Attachments:

And just for reference here's the height difference between a 165/60x12 and a 165/70x10 The 165/60x12 is a whole 10mm taller. Attachments:

Thats a great pic of a proper wheel tyre and arch combination , classic stuff .
I put one of my 13's with 50 profile tyre up against a 10 inch mini wheel fitted with the old crossply tyre and they were about the same height..

Are they not the same as 8.4 braided lines then?? I couldnt find any braided lines listed for 7.5 calipers only so assumed they were the the same as 8.4, and in a "Holy Grail" stylee........" Ive got some already and there very nice".

Ok maybe I getting mixed up with metro 4 pot callipers.
Just had a look on mini spares, your right they do braided kits , but not for any specific callipers. ie 8.4 or 7.5 or 7.0.
So I must be getting mixed up. Whoops.

My original thought was that 8.4s would be metric threads and 7.5 would be imperial threads, but maybe theyre the same.
