well like most fridays i finish early so i had a play with my engine, my sw5 camshaft was tight and stuck about 5mm before it was total in place, bit of playing with advice from the engine builder now it fits perfect and turns smoothly, oil pump is on and also my swiftune vernier timing gear is on , shimmed the gears up and it all went on smoothly, thats the great thing about quality parts, they are made to fit. just got to set the timing then start to bolt the head on, been on mini spares website and bought a few things that i need, like mounts for the spare wheel, hoses etc etc
getting there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! slowly, photos to follow

yeap, i will back fill it and reverse the pump to suck the oil though so its primed, before and crank it over on the bench to test it for oil pressure
started to build up the front subframe in julie living room today while watch the f1 that i recorded earlier, hit a few problems due to a cheaply made part, so got to buy new decent parts, i should know by now, also sprayed up a few things,
fingers crossed i can get on with some welding tomorrow

so the pump was not primed or lubed prior to fitting . i used cam lube in mine to lube before fitting it . Ac , med or Calver recommended . Cant remember who . Also told to reverse prime with oil .

been playing again, checked the timing again, and i am now happy with it, cam followers fitted ,new comp head studs fitted, head gasket fitted, cleaned the paint off the face of the head, blew it all out with a air line, then fitted the head, fitted the rocker studs to the head,
just got to clean the push rods and torque the head down, and fit and gap the rockers, then its time to rebuild the gearbox.flywheel and clutch were balanced with the crank and ready to be fitted once the gearbox is done
i have many photos but its just getting time to post them up.
also done a big order with mini spares for loads of bits and bobs, hoses, window catch gaskets and screws, gen bottom arm pin, etc ect, that should come tomorrow, bought a refurbished smith 7000 rpm rev counter, (80mm) its very nice,
going to do some welding and fit the boot floor over the weekend.
