well its home again, and my wallet is a lot lighter. very happy with it, and i am glad its not bough up any more rot, so glad i have sorted everything which was there before it was blasted it has been totally soda blastered and the whole car has been coated in a zinc sulphate coating to stop rust, forming and any corrotion which was there it converts it, like rust cure, and its everywhere, underside of the scuttle, roof, dash, right up to the top of the inside of the arches , everywhere those are the original floors except for a odd little bit replaced on the front floor pans still have last few bits to tidy up and finish off then off to the paint shop in the new year

Well with the time off I been out working on the Mk1, first I removed the brackets on the car for the spit, gave it a clean up and sprayed in avid etch primer , also the areas which were not coated as its were they mounted it to there spit.
The new bumpers I got from somerfords are a good fit and the front one is fitted, just the back to go.
Cleaned up a few welds around the front and test fitted up the drivers side seam stripped front and rear.
In the boot , the tops of the suspension mounts were not looking too good, so they were removed and the rear end of a 80's mini in the garden donated a new pair for the mk1.
There all fitted. Ground down and treated in etch primer
I welded all the cable tabs inside the car and in the boot.
More to do today, like passenger door and pasanger side seam strips. See how far I get.

its getting there, its getting there, i want it to get to paint but dont want to miss something, that i regret later. but boot lid to all done, got the gaps equal, and panel beat the boot, to make it flush with the body so its not just built up with filler passanger door is now complete drilled and added to drain tubes to the bottom of my doors made a bracket to hold the bonnet pin test fitted the bonnet catch, and that it closes played with the bonnet hinges. took passanger door off and sprayed up all the bare metal from fitting the door fitted drivers door rubber and test fitted the door test fitted the rear shocks drilled holes for grommets on the front floor pan for my brake and fuel lines plus other bits and bobs
