daz like i told you , you need to fit a new float chamber fuel valve the bit i re set when you stopped in the moutain at newquay in the freezing mist .it was sticking in its guide so it needs replacing that tiny nylon bit wiv the brass bit on the end cheap as chips will solve everything and then you will have to re adjust the mixture back

maybe its not the carb on its own, could be a few thing put together that is doing it, maybe the head with bad sealing valves, have a compression test to see that one, ( i have the tool)
or the carbs are worn and need a rebuild
try what shawn said first it only cost a few pennies,(L2B next weekend) you can get the parts there,

plenty of other carbs laying around its just a float valve if another one is tight in the apparture then change the top float chamber lid too, you did say you had forced the supply pipe into the casting so it could be misshaped or warped a tad, just enough to make that valve stick anyways .

manky now running again!
After a trip to car shop and buying service parts, rotor arm, dizzy cap, points, condensor, leads, spark plugs
fitted all the above, still no joy, phone call to shawn got him over stiil wouldnt go.
quick trip to hampden park to borrow a compression tester.
1. 150 2. 125 3. 25 4. 25
oh dear head gasket gone, so whipped head and confirmed the above a nice little blow between 3 & 4, and almost going between 2 & 3.
so quick trip to newhaven to pick up gasket from shawns pad, got back put together, started more or less first time.
big thanks to shawn, and rachel and tony for use of drive space(again).
Monday will be going for a tune up to make sure dwell angle, timing is correct or not.

Ive offered a 1275 auto with 40k, will sort all the carb probs out to , Tony wont decide.
