Well, I better post some stuff up about mankie/minkie. Since my last post i have broken down twice. think the second time was my fault not enough petroleum in tank Anyway, new points, condensor, ht leads, sparkplugs went on a few weeks ago. still stunk of petrol, managed to get it semi tuned up and now seems to run a lot better. will test today on lucy runs. Anyway the timing was slightly out and the points gap was slightly out, but was told that it was a good first attempt . ;D Since then mankie has got his gold revos back on and now a sterea(thanks tony) This morning i tieded up all wiring and replaced tonys 6x9 with an alternative sound source which happens to sound better then the 6x9. Anyway see you all later daz ;D

Well i thought i would start my pre Riv run checks early and was slightly concerned over engine running a bit hotter than normal, ;D Checked heater hoses and found that one side was hot and one side was cold, the heater was on blowing cold air. So i decided to take the heater pipe of the bottom hose and turn engine over to double check to see if water was flowing ;D undone jubiee and started to wrk the pipe of when it went, the whole sticky uppy bit of the bottom hose came clean away from bottom hose So Quick phone call to uncle Jim and a trip over to hastings i now have in my possesion a bottom hose and new rad cap. oh and a mirror for overtaking. So my busy weekend has now turned into a very busy weekend. The new plan Saturday. 1. buy a decent hosepipe 2. take broken bottom hose off and replace with uncle jims 3. take brand new hose and connect to water supply 4. replace heater tap with new one 5. take said hose and stuff in pipe into heater 6. turn water supply on and hopefully get rid off air lock/obstruction. 7. connect all hoses to relevent places. 8. fill up with a antifreeze & water mixture. 9. test. need to do all this before about 1pm 10. Attend boys birthday party. Sunday 1. look after boy 2. do some chores Monday 1. go to polegate pick up renault 2. remove remains of old petrol tank strap 3. remove rope holding petrol tank up 4. refit new petrol tank strap 5. remove drivers seat 6. refit bolt that has come loose 7. put seat back in 8. drop back to polegate 9. finish of check on mankie, ie brakes arrggh i can see the air been very blue around the vicinty of me this weekend ;D daz

:)new bottom hose on, heater blown out using my own puff, new heater tap put on, run into problem, one nut has decided it dosent want to work anymore, tryed other ut to make sure grooves in hole wernt to blame, they are fine, so trip down to scrapyard tommorro and find a new nut hopefully. all needs now is a test for leaks and refilled with anti freeze and then see what happens. daz

Got up early today Went to both scrapyards in hailsham no minis or a series engines lying around Put plan B in to motion, popped round and saw uncle billy and pinched a nut of one of his spare engines. thankyou billy ;D Got back tryed new bolt and worked a treat, also added some sealent gasket between heater tap and block. Left it to set part filled with water, switched her on and filled with antifreeze, left her running a good quarter of an hour, checked for leaks and nothing, i added new rad cap, thanks uncle jim. She didnt appear to go above quarter of the way up the gauge ;D So hopefully fingers crossed problem solved, need to take for test run, so not counting my chickens yet. Also added another passenger mirror, thnaks uncle jim, using some funiture nut and bolts i had lying around. can now see when overtaking On monday will be taking one wheel off and putting spare on, as it dosent to appera to of gone down, will then have a full matching set of tyres all round. ;D until my next post T.T.F.N
