upside down i hope not lol its a cheap solution and dont weigh a great deal looks neater than having blobs of glue and remains of sound deadening. if it helps keep the noise down then its an added bonus

thought id try and get my bonnet to shut properly so got a cheap fibreglass bonnet off stephen and a alloy bulge off ebay. i chopped a hole in bonnet and bonded the bulge with fibreglass matting and resin and heres what iv ended up with just need to drill holes for the bonnet pins and attach sliding pins

Looks very tasty.... MED produce some very nice kits, got 1 of their ultra light clutch & flywheel setups and very happy with it - loving the DSN billet alloy timing cover ! Take it your boltin the supercharger back on with this type R engine block setup...? Ant

Reckon it will need a bit of a run round the block next time it is in with me for a MOT .......... just to warm the brakes up a bit to give it benefit of the doubt in the rollers of course ;D All the guys love the Capri each time you bring it in by the way . I was on the MED site the other day and did not see that timing cover . They new I guess . I like Med , helpfull etc , good quality and could not fault the componants of my mild engine kit I bought off them . Got the right bits and can feel it accelerate in 4th , helped by the 3.1 on the 10's

hi dave, you are more than welcome to take it round the block to warm the brakes lol however when she comes in for her mot she will still be in the running in period so no booting it lol. how did you run yours in? med told me to run the cam in first at 2000rpm for 20 minutes i always thought it was 2500 rpm, then drive for 50 mile keeping under 3500 rpm drain oil and change filter then do 1000 mile driving normal keeping out the top rpm and not to put the engine under load. that timing cover isn't a MED item its a DSN classics one i got it at the l2b show they look pretty cool and eliminates the use of the gasket that always leaks (well mine have always leaked) it uses a massive rubber o ring and has a breather on the back plate, also incorporates a bracket for crank sensor which is pretty smart, i'll put some more photos up soon. im glad the lads like the capri, thinking of getting then body sorted on her been sourcing panels so far got a scuttle now just need some wings . think of taking her to restore a ford in newhaven he's pricey but his work is top notch. its a good car and never really too much trouble for mot, i'd like to put a TVR v8 in her but thats when my mini is sorted and i stop spending money on it lol and yes I'm also using a 3.1 final drive on the mini had one on the other engine and cruised lovely not too noisy either. matt

3.1's are spot on with the 10's . Would be interesting to see how that new cover holds oil . Your old one did leak didnt it . If your Ford guy is pricey why not try Fairlight Coachworks , thats the one in Peacehaven who sprayed the mk1. Tex knows about old cars , not saying he will be any cheaper but I can 100% vouch for his work and it will be done properly . . I did work experiance with him when I was at school so have known him nearly 25 years I guess . Top bloke , certainly worth a chat . Mention me.
