it is special in that it has groove for the blower and the water pump. not sure how much wider it is but it does clear the radiator bracket by a couple of mm. however i did have trouble with the trigger wheel which fould the bottom bracket sandwich plate thingy the top counter sunk bolt to exact. so i've had to file a few mm out of that and grind a few mm of the bolt that retains it so i got about 1.5 mm clearence there it quit tight around that area of the engine. neil have you had urs on the rollers yet? matt

Interesting I woulednt mind dabbleing with injection but would need to get a trigger wheel fitted. not sure I have the room though with my radiator and inner wing. Pickup is still stuck in the lockup which is a shame as I would have like to been driving it this summer It has tax / insurance / mot but I just cant get access to it in its current location N.

The MED management crank damper has the teeth built in, so it's quite narrow

before anyone tells me that the thermostat sandwich plate is the wrong way around i'v had to modify it to fit this way for the reason that its for a mpi and they have a front mounted radiator and i have a side mounted so the fan wen rotating will hit the temp sensor for the ecu thus having to mount it this way lol all fun and games ;D matt

sadly no, really cant wait tho. iv been waiting for parts from vmax scart now for just over a month now, waiting for stainless steel inlet manifold with boost gauge outlet, charger belt, charger oil, gasket glue stuff and my wide band lambda sensor which was sent back to be calibrated. hope to get it on the road very soon. had to send back kenlowe fan for a smaller one fit fits just nicely, exhaust is now on, boost gauge now fitted to and finally fitted sump guard which i bought ages ago when i had my blue and white mini lol even when its don it will need mot however dunno if the base map on the ecu will let it run enough to drive let alone for the emissions test lol (tho its only a visual test) once mot its of to vmax for fall rolling road and map. matt

What do you do with the supercharger oil I thought the eaton units were sealed and service free. N.

i thought the same. however when i got my charger from jon speed it had a sticker on it saying check oil every 5000 mile and it has 1 allen bolt in each end of the case which are about 10mm in diameter just enough to get a plastic pipe into however i put castrol gtx oil which isn't good enough so gotta drain that and vmax supply special supercharger oil it doesn't take alot. but like you i was under the impression that they didn't need maintenance however i guess the bearings for the rotors need oil. matt

My Cooper S Works has never been oiled and thats got over 40K on the clock now... as far as I know its not part of the BMW maintenance schedule... although it is blow through so maybe it a side effect of the suck through fuel setup.
I'll have to get you to show me the bolts your on about sometime.

strange that cos when i first put the blower on i phoned the bmw mini in hailsham and they couldn't tell me what oil it takes or if it even took any so i phoned jon speed and they said it just goes in the holes provided they just said use some good synthetic oil. so iv always had oil in it. i'll take some photos

ok been doin abit of google searching and a few forums mainly mercedes forums come up saying that it uses "a lifetime oil" which claims 100,000 mile lifetime. this oil comes in 250ml bottles. vmax does supply oil dunno if its the lifetime oil tho. hope this helps, it would explain why ur coopers maintenance list dont show up anything. anyway here some pics of mine. matt

Mine hasent got that blanking plate there its just a rotating shaft... I think it is used to drive something like the water pump in the OEM application N.
