;D ;D ;D its not crashed on the road since last Feb. All okay to me ;D ;D ;D Does this mean you've crashed off road? Ask Dave, he almost joined me for a 'spin' at Castle Coombe. Lucky he kept his braking distance!!

No way near joining you for a spin mate . No luck to it either , was called being sensible . Alan and i saw how you were going round long before we got close enough to overtake and you lost control . I had to keep backing off No way I was getting close to a Mini with 4 shopping trolley castors for wheels . ;D

No way I was getting close to a Mini with 4 shopping trolley castors for wheels . ;D Hence the self imposed corner speed limit in the wet.

The ducks been soldering along now. Still got the issue with the idle. Guessing an air leak over ignition now. Will look at that one day.
Bit of knocking going on now around the front left wheel. Bit of play (Lots) on the bearing, so a new bearing is on tomorrow.
I've also not with the little dribbles of oil, fuel is also been dropped. I little investigation has revealed the fuel pump has been leaking into the oil! The fuel smells like a petrol tank! So a new pump and an oil change is due ASAP!!

Well the fuel in the engine bay has been traced to old fuel hoses not sealing onto the fuel pump, spraying fuel as high RPM's.
Did the contact gap, timing and tappets last night. Scrapped off some corrosion built up on the distributor cap. Runs a bit smoother now but I think I adjusted the idle a bit low so its still cutting out when coasting to a stop.
Plan to whip off the head and lap the valves in next week. Tempted to change the final drive but not sure if I have the enthusiasam. Probably just do the ball joints and hand brake adjustment.

Another great 12 car rally tonight. Thanks Jim for your support with the brake adjustment at your Pad. She now has brakes again! Paul was navigating and we where on form. We lost a bit of time on the first stage, but everything after that was going well............... Flying around one corner and the back end had a wobble. 'Oh thats a bit lively' 20 meters on, a corner approached and the steering didn't respond 'Oh ~uck Paul'........... bang! A whole stretch of ice down the road was the reason. Luckily only the flip front got it. Few bungees and off we went off to the finish point for a drink. We'd lost to much time to even bother with the last 1/4 of the rally. And we came 2nd out 5ish. Result ;D ;D Left the pub and got 1/4 down the road to a blue light disco... the rear lights had died too! Had to do a drink check and all that routine and he kindly did not book me. The cooper just escorted us up the road to Ninfield and dumped the car at the garage. Thanks to Doug and Katie for the lift home in the Herald, (Tonights winning car ;D) and all the other chaps who blasted after us when they saw us leave with no rear lights. Top folk. Just new a new flip to get hold of now. ;D

Hello all Duckling fans! ;D Before Simon gets the chance to post this himself, thought I'd get in there first! ;D once again Sod's Law has dawned apon us and our January 2007 is one not to want to remember! The Duckling had an interation with a sign post & now needs a new face job & a good plastic surgeon! Coming off a roundabout, over a rise, hard left, skid, sign post...no longer standing , then a few harsh words....... ...... but the engine runs & we only lost one bulb, .......needs wing, bonet, bumper, grill, light, mounts........that's the evaluation so far. ....Simon now sending out search light signal for 'Minihaven Man'! I believe he's going to appear on Thursday. Thank you! Afraid no pictures as of yet because my camera is broken too. But will get some taken tomorrow. We are ok though, a little shaken but we & the Duckling are back home. Having a strong drink now. ;D Josies post from just over a year ago.... Sound familiar? ;D

Hi Paul and Si Glad you are both OK following your little bump last night ;D Sorry we couldn't come to your rescue, but we were just heading off to bed as we had to be up at 5 this morning You probably got home quicker than if you had had to wait for us anyway ;D

I swear the navigator should be able to tell me the type of corner and chances of ice.... Pauls threatened me with a whip lash claim.... Cheek of it! Thank you Paul for the 7am dash and tow recovery of the Duck to my Mum's house. Sorry Mum Paul was quick to drag me and my wallet up to Minispeed and the cheapest one piece flip front available... another clubman ;D Hope to have the new front on by the weekend. Maybe a roller of paint as well. I'll give it 6 months before Paul buys the next flip front. ;D Thinking about slapping a low boost turbo on there now. The drums work okay every now and again so wont worry about that.
