you want to paint that fairly quickly as the primer is porus, otherwise you might end up preping it twice.

Well yet another day working on the little car. Stared off alright, decided i would switch the boots over. Nice, simple and easy task...or so you would think! Removal of the old boot was easy. A few bolts, a few screws and some sticky stuff behind the number plate. It was all off within about 15 minutes. All proud of myself, i decided to crack on putting the new boot lid on. Put the lock mechanism in, simple enough...or maybe not. Trying to turn the handle and nothing happened, it wouldnt move an inch. Grr. So i take the lock back out and try to work out whats going wrong. The lock works fine off the boot, so why does it not seem to work while on the boot? After many attempts at putting the lock on i finally gave up, or should i say the bolts gave up? Both of which decided to sheer off whilst in the process putting back on! Not a happy chap! Screwdriver was rapidly thrown against the tool box and the lock was also thrown in some silly dierction. I stopped for a little break and to calm down. I then tried to place the lamp back above the number plate on the new boot lid, but yet again more problems! One of the bulbs had come out and was virtually impossible to put back in again. That was it, i'd had enough by now, so i just hid the wires in the box and screwed it back on. Whilst putting the wire boot straps back up, the screw that was originally holding them in place decided not to fit the hole anymore, just brilliant! So i hunted round the garage for a nice big, thick screw, that did the job well. Boot is now locked, but with my invisible lock on the front of it, clever hey I then decided to take the rear passenger window out and spray around the frame as i had not done this part, even though the rest of the pannel had been done. This job went eaisly, I was expecting to smash the window after all of my other problems today! Work finished for today, shall crack on again during the week, hopefully that will go smoother than today! Some pics of the latest work... New boot Boot before... Boot after...With invisible lock and grease finger prints Rear side pannel, with dodgy weld Wheres the weld gone?

He did swear lots today Had to duck to avoid low-flying objects Dale is just pleased the number plate hadn't been fixed on with bathroom sealant, which had been used as filler on front panel ;D
