:)Report from yesterday, Finished front end 99% Just waiting for rebound stops to arrive, also need to do front subframe mounts, wanted to make a start on the rear. got rear jacked up and trumpets and dampers out, cones had welded themselves to trumpet . Haynes says prise of with screwdriver or small lever hahahahahaha well eventually got cones of and 1 nylon cup out of radius arm. How do you get knuckle joint trumpet and new cone into a hole that is approx 2inch too small? well hopefully find out today. Then all that will need doing is gaskets on mech fuel pump, subframe mounts, and rebounds. Oh and i replaced the park switch on the wiper motor but managed to put the 3 wires on the wrong way so thats another job that needs doing daz

;DWell after a lot of swearing managed to get one side in, but didnt look right,Tony came back and made us think a bit, then a a phone call to Dave, and we realised that the inner metal part of rubber cone was still attached to trumpet. Before this was relised i had maneged to break other trumpet ;D A few txt messages and Jim had a spare one!!! But couldnt get other one out of subframe so another txt and Jim said he had 2, so out came the angle grinder and now i had 1 split trumpet and 1 trumpet in 2 peices. Went over to Jims, and what was a quick job taking trumpet out of subframe turned into half hour of "oooops" each time the screwdriver slipped. Got back and had roger back on 4 wheels within half hour . Now need to go back and refit petrol tank, fit rubber rebounds, put gaskets on fuel pump, subframe mounts, and re wire park swith on wiper motor. Will get there eventually daz

now you can see why replacing basic bits and bobs on a mini is important . look at those suspension rubbers . most of the cars in the club will have out of shape ones like that unless they are either a few years old or the car is low mileage.

I know mine look like that as it drives so hard... still at least it stops the wheels rubbing the arches. N
