Hey there, have just discovered the joys of the EDMC site...it is brill. (thank you Mininutter who directed me here on the minifinity forum!)
I need to have a bodywork overhaul on my '83 mini mayfair. He is not a happy bunny...and neither am I as have had quotes ranging from £7-10k for it. Lord! Am currently thinking of going for replacing the necessary panels (arguably most of them) as opposed to going for a new body shell, as heard some pretty negative things on the quality of the new bodyshells. Wondered if anyone had any recommendations from experience?
Am also then looking for some kind soul to do it for me....Phatz in Brighton has been recommended, but would love to hear of any others too.
Really happy to have found this site - thanks!
Nell

Hi Nell
Pleased you found us, club meet Monday Night if you want a chat over a drink.
Ouch £10K!!! Where did you get that quote from. For that money you would get a great restoration!
Pat and Phatz at on the Brighton Forum, I've not looked to heaviy into there results for your money but they have a lot of mini owners go to them. Always a good Sign.
Minihaven, look through the members list at the top to PM him. Shawn is one of our club memebers and works from his lock up, one man band. He's got years of expirience and has done many a patching boots, replacing sills and even an odd service for me. Very good prices for his work but without the full spray shop facility may be limited on full paint jobs.
'Adrain' not sure of the company name, based over in Hastings. Old Git, Rachel, Sarah and Dale have all had their cars restored with full resprays. Check the memebers cars on the main web site. Not sure of his contact details, anyone?
I'm going the fairlight garage with my mum's at the moment, full professional repair/paint shop but its an insurance repair so were not paying ;D Contact details at on the links page of the main web site.
There's another at Stone cross which MiniGT5 has used but again don't have any contact details.
Really it boils down to how much money you have and how confident you have in the folks doing the work. A full professional rebuild of a shell for a concour finish can be well above £10K, but a well presented MOT'd shell could be under £2K.
Can anyone one help with the contact details of Adrian and the guy at Stones Cross?
