Hi guys, I have a small problem, Today i managed to compress my rubber cone spring, after re-tapping a new thread into it, and knocked out the Trumpet connecting to the Upper suspension arm, relieving all the pressure on it. The problem is cant get that bloody pivot shaft to come out!! I think the spacer has rusted to the sub frame, and just wont budge.
Are there any ideas, or past experiences!
Regards
Alastair

I have knocked the trumpet out so its just the Suspension arm. I cant Hammer it out, as with a mini moke there isnt enough room between the end of the shaft and the Footwell!

Sorry, For referance of the pin shape. www.minispares.com/Product.aspx?pid=37091Remove both nut's either side of the shaft. At least the nut at the back of the tower!! Have you removed the locking plate on the front side of the tower, its got two 7/16 nut & bolts or slightly smaller. Then the whole pivot shaft drifts out to the front of the car. The top arm is then free to remove. Wasnt quite sure that was what your trying to remove, but hope it helps.

Yer the linky was what im on about.
Its the drifting of the pivot arm, it just wont come out it will turn but wont come out. I have removed all the nuts. I have already got one sides suspension arm out, the pivot shaft just drifted out as described, but this side wont budge an inch. I think the Spacer, has become rusted into the subframe, and there for the shaft cant get past it!

Drop the sub frame and use a bigger hammer ;D
Not much else to reccomend. Have you been able to remove the lubrication spacer on the front side of the town under the locking plate?
Else try and use a punch to twist/turn the spacer.
