Hello once again! Well, i posted before about my engine numbers not matching what i expected, and ill go through it again very quickly to refresh memories. I have a mini moke with what i was told was a 1275GT engine, after starting work on restoring her, i noticed the Little plate that sits below the Thermostat housing read: 110h791aa. And it was decided on this forum that it matched a 1100 engine, probably from a Clubman. TODAY, i have started to clean the engine, after removing it from the car, and noticed a number on the Block, that is located on the rear of the engine below the manifolds, and the inspection plates and to the Bell housing side of the engine. And this reads: 12A497AA. So i double checked minispares, and it indicates the enigne is a 1275GT built AFTER 1990. My father who used to run the moke around, doubts if the engine was built post 1990, as it was picked up VERY EARLY 90's i.e. 1990,91 second hand and very cheaply.
So i am very confused as to what the enigne really is! And would be greatful for any ideas you have.
Kindest regards ALASTAIR.

yeah that is the casting number. the one by the thermostat is the engine number which should start 10h fir the engine to be a 1098 from either a clubman or an austin 1100. If it was post 90 it would be an A+ engine.
