Hello again, I have taken off my old Slave Cylinder from the 1098 engine. The old slave has a hook at the top were the Return spring fits to the arm of the clutch. The new Slave cylinder i bought off mini spares (Pre-Verto) does not have any such hook for the return spring, So my question is were does my return spring hook to on the new on\ have i got the wrong part??
Kind Regards
Alastair

I think you have the wrong part........you need a verto one. But double check with Dave as I could be completely wrong ;D

Thanks for the responses! Oh i see, the pictures of the new verto ones, look different to the old cylinder that came off, the new non-verto looks identical just without the hook\hole.

if the arms are the same its the same part . there are 2 types and one is inches longer than the other and obviously differant. Cant you transfer the metal tag for the spring from the old one. Sure it will be right , if you said 1098 i cant believe they would send a verto one because no 1098 had verto .

Its identical in Size, just without the hook. The Hook, is part of the actual casing for the Cylinder So the only way would be to saw it off or similar, and weld it to the new one!

Spoke to someone about this problem, and apparently theres meant to be an eggshaped plate that goes on the bleed screw, and the spring hooks to a small hole on the Plate. I think im planning to just drill a small hole in a penny washer and attach the spring to that, and put the washer between the casing of Slave cylinder and the Bleed screw!!!!

No no, like i said the old one DIDNT have a tag, the actual casing had a built up area with a whole in it, there was no little tag on the bleed screw.

Yer, Bigtrigg thats what i am going to do: I think im planning to just drill a small hole in a penny washer and attach the spring to that, and put the washer between the casing of Slave cylinder and the Bleed screw!!!! Glad it worked for you! Yer how cheap they don't provide that plate anymore! Regards Alastair
