There are a few options although I have not done any You can get service kits from Burlen fuel systems ( su carbs) and the mag articles make it sound easy to do yourself or send it to Burlen for them to do it at the factory or AC Dodd at ML Motorsport will do it for you , get hold of him via the ML Motorsort forum , friendly chap . Not forgetting Gerald Dale , several of us have used him now for this and that . Get his number off the links page on the EDMC main site . Sure someone who has done it will put up a post . Dave

i rebuilt my hiff 44 before it was easy, you get instruction and diagrames with a rebuild kit,
just give everything a really good clean make sure the is not to much play in your butterfly spindle or you will have to have bushes put in to stop te play in the shaft.
there is also a bloke called ian ( oz ) he has a campany called OAP he builds engine and goes everything on minis, and any other cars , race/ rally prep etc he is very good at rebuilding carbs and can bore it out a little and put a bigger butterfly in
can not find a website but i can get you his workshop address and number. its up by east grinsted

best to make sure you get the exact kit as when we did a rebuild with a kit minispares sent the wrong parts in the kit so it didnt work too well. i mean, it fixed it a bit but was a waste of time really.
you cant rebuild a completely worn out carb sometimes it will need replacing/ its easier and cheaper to replace it. would be quite easy to reapir it tho if its ok, just dont loose the little bits and pieces

i had the same problem it pings round and its hard to set it in the right place and twist it round and screw the nut back in , i was "F ing " and blinbing when i did my twin carbs. i found a marking, worn place on the body of the carb which showed me were the spring was.
good luck

yeh i finally got the things on by using deans technique of looking for worn spots. put the engine back together and the thing started first time so it was a relief to say the least. ;D

and i found out why the car wasnt performing in the first place. went to stick a cotton bud into the fuel inlet into the carb when it was stripped and it got stuck. gave it a push and a pile of fine rust flies out !! its a wonder the d**n thing even ran with the fuel inlet so blocked.
