Found another reason to dearly love clockwork Minis as the most unreliable Mini I have ever owned packed up again . Went down a huge pot hole friday night and the bloody car cut out . Would not start , had ignition but that was it . Had to push it somewhere safe so I could collect it next morning . Turned out the impact had activated the fuel cut off switch under the bonnet. I presssed that and re-set it. I could then hear the fuel pump buzzing annoyingly away in the boot as normal but no start. Played with a couple of wires on relays and off we went . The impact with the pot hole also caused a crack in the joint between wing and front panel and cracked the wheelarch as the tyre hit the wing. A clockwork car would not of broken down in the first place . ;D as it does not have these bits on them. 8-)Love the mk1 , nice and basic , distributor , points, condensor and still has its original sills 47 years on ;D. Which is more than I can say for the injected mini. Plus its faster .......... when the engine is in it .

All modern vehicles electronics are a nightmare . Regular problems are temp sensors , egr valves , lambda probes , aiflow meters, crank sensors , pencil coils etc etc . The amount of times its the good old fashioned spark plug to fault is rare.
