Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone knew how my 1330 would run using a freeflow manifold. I know an LCB is better but with having a downdraft weber carb on it, I've had to modify the LCB i've got by bashing in 2 of the branches a little to allow the inlet manifold to fit in. I've noticed the freeflow manifolds advertised say they're for 998/1098's, so is that all there is available or is there one made for 1275's? To save boring everyone by typing the engine spec, it's on the "Member's cars" bit of the club website.
Cheers all who may help! Ben

Ben,
Take care. The 998 block is not as tall as a 1275 type so if you buy a Freeflow for a 998 it may foul the bottom of the gearbox.... I'd talk to Maniflow and see what they suggest.... Cheers,
Martin

Really, but let me qualify it. My understanding is that the 'Freeflow' manifold is/was originally designed for small bore engines...larger capacities work better with LCB or full 3-branch manifolds. Small bore blocks are shorter than large bore and, given the close tolerances involved in fitting Mini exhaust systems, I reckon this could be the difference between a system fitting or being on the tight side. No doubt others will have further thoughts....
