is it possible to have a set of front seats that sit lower than the standard mini seats and is it possible to put seats from say a saab in the car if you alter the subframes?

yes it is possible, just remeber how small a mini is comparitive to most other cars. Metro seats work well and minispeed sell subrames to fit them stright in, although you will need to drill holes in the floor to mount them. best option is a pair of buckets and subframes, hav a look on ebay.

another good one is xr2 or fiesta seats they work well but you again have to fabricate a bracket or bar to transverse accross the mid box section for it to be bolted down to .plus you will need to bolt down to the rear floor , the plus sides are you will be able to use the seat system to fold fowards in order to let peeps get in the back .
