I have never tried them myself but a mate did have a set. Lets just say he could not wait to replace them with something else.

They do the job as budget tyres. I thought the A539 yoko's were sent from the gods... untill I discovered to Yoko A48's. Wow!!! But at £60-70 each for only 10,000miles of smile filled grip... Also suprising that even with the less tread its best in the wet!!? I'm back to the A539's. Falk - Hard/Medium, A539 - medium A48 - soft. ;D ;D ;D Softer you go the more you pay and the less miles they last. Its all down to your preferace.

you've seen me drive jim!! ;D ;D unfortunately i think my mileage is going to be too high to justify the a048's so i reckon a set of a539's might be in order. thanks for the input guys.

Going back to 1991 I saw a new John Cooper modified Rover Cooper in Arundel . It had wide tyres on it . Wow . Only 145/70/12 tyres seemed to be available then , 155's were around but definately not recommended . The 145's were fine for Doris , but Dangerous David needed more grip and I could not wait to get my hands on the Dunlop 165s I had seen . My brother and I both used these tyres on our Minis . They had great grip and a good wear rate . I only look at 10's these days but I can recommend them if they are still about .. d
