has anyone else had the problem that having spotlights on the car melts the light rocker switch due to the high current. does anyone know how to get around this or know of any switchs that can handle the current?

Spotlights need to be switched via a relay as the current will melt the switch !!!! As you just found out ;D ;D

Buy a spotlight kit with relay & correct size cables, connectors etc from Halfords made by RING about £15 I think is the easiesst way
