i need to invest a few panels and after looking at prices it appears that pattern are a fair bit cheaper then genuine panels. Am i right in thinking that this is because the quality and fit is a lot better, if this is the case then i would rather spend a bit more and have better panels. Or is there no differance at all? ?? any help would be very useful GAZ

Not had any experience with them myself, but i've been told/read a lot, that its best to go for the genuine panels, the non-genuine are well known not to fit, or take a lot of effort to get them to fit!
Spend the few extra quid, and save the hassle!

Thats pretty much what i thought people would say. I think it is better to spend a bit more on genuine panels and save on time trying to make them fit!!

British Motor Heritage for arguments sake were more or less the classic car end of Rover. They looked after all history and records of Rover cars and all the companies that were eventually taken over over the years until they all were named Rover . So that includes MG, Triumph, Rover, Austin, Morris , Wolsely , Riley, Austin Healy etc , British Leyland , Morris etc They not only looked after the history , they also had a large museum at Gaydon full of all the makes and models of the vehicles listed above, this includes some very rare Minis . Along with the museum BMH also supply parts for some of these cars . They have obtained the original production line tooling , repaired and recomissioned it to allow them to produce new parts for these cars . They make body shells and other parts for MG,'s, Triumphs and others. The Mini is well catered for as they make lots of parts for the Mini in general plus bodyshells for Mini's and Mini Clubmans. The entire Mini production line was closed in 2000, dismantled and installed in a factory at Witney in Oxfordshire not far from Mini in the Park and it is now producing limited supply of Mini shells again. Thats the history . So basically heritage parts are parts made from the tooling used on the original production line and are therefore of original quality. The big boys in the Classic car and Mini game sell Heritage parts. The top names on that list I sent you the other day are included. d

heritage are good but if you are looking for a cheaper option go for hadrian they have a good reputation for near accuracy they are the panels you see at all the shows sold by the same bloke , they might need a bit of adjustment upon build but they look as good as the others when fitted properly . the only time i fitted origional cills labelled heritage they had the jig holes in the wrong place , if you moved the cill to lighn up the jig holes the vents didnt lighn up . its all down to the coachbuilding skills of the engineer hired to do the work at the end of the day .
