hey has anyone had the problem where the hazard warning lights just dont work but all the other electronics do? i cant find where the hazard warning light fuse is? has anyone done this before coz i cant find out whats wrong.

hi rob its quite a regular problem this time of the year and of course at mot times , the fuse is normally located behind the air filter on pre injection cars its in one of those white in line fuse holders they usually get wet and corrode untill the current reaches high resistivity and it becomes open circuit , another popular fault is the dash switch becomes dry and stiff or non clicky (no tactile feel of a click) which results in a switch change . if you cant sort it pop round and see me ill have it sorted in a jiffy 01273 611355

Mine dont work either on the Grey Duckling, Will have a look at the fuse tomorrow & see if it's the same problem. Still having troubles getting the battery out as the Live clamp is rusted on!

my experiance its always the fuse . If the switch is iffy sometimes repeatedly switching it on and off will clean the contacts and may bringit back to life . Good luck Either of you are welcome to phone me at work if help is needed 01273 303020 d

There is another possible cause.
The relay that is situated on the bulkhead to the right hand side of bay as looking into the engine.
Am i right?

i'm gonna have a look at mine tomorrow and see if its the fuse, relay or switch. ...knowing my luck it'll be something completely different!

yeah some times its the flasher relay on the bukhead they tend to get corroded too as they also get damp and rot . i posted a post last winter reference to flasher relay because its only a bi-metal strip and the flash rate can be irratic at times it is a worth while conversion to go for the solid state electronic version available from halfords it only involves wiring in an additional earth connection for it to work . then you have waterproof flasher with regular flash rate regardless of the battery condition and resistance of the dodgey bulbholder circuits.plus its in an encapsulated resin or plastic box (keeps out the water) no worries there then lol.

???how can rust be technical? o i see you need to ct it out then fix with super glue no sorry gaffer tape nope still wrong sticking metal to metal using a rather hot stick i think
