well boys and girls its time for the cars to start playing up again , wipers and heaters and foglights and headlights packing up ? the main fault concerning the electricals packing up is normally the fuse compartment in pre late nineties cars with fuse boxes in the bonnet compartment under the wipers on the drivers side . because of the high current demand over the winter months the second fuse down tends to get a bit flakey . the springs which retain the fuse get weak due to heat and corrosion and the back of the fuse box gets heat perrished and corroded this is all caused by the damp and or wet sound proofing and sometimes water behind it which makes contact with the current and causes the electrolytic corrosion . remedy:- plug the leak where the water is coming from. replace with a good second hand one or replace with a brand new lucas origional part (available from me for 19.95) and remove the sound deadening from behind the fuse box and connections . some of the connections on the fuse board may have corrosion on them greeny blue colour , cut off and crimp on new ones .
