If you mean A series Metro engine I have done this several times now . People may do things differantly to me and there is a lot involved when putting it in a short message . To simplify things Use the mini : Clutch flywheel starter end cover from the mini gearbox complete with the clutch release arm etc . clutch slave cylinder. engine mounts inlet and exhaust manifolds radiator thermostat housing . Drill four 3mm holes around the circumferance of the Mini thermostat . Use a Metro water pump. The reason for the holes and the metro pump is because the mini has a bypass hose between the head and waterpump, the metro does not , its all to do with coolant flow. You do not need the expansion tank . Look at the drivers side end of the top of the Metro cylinder head. It has no heater tap just 2 threaded holes for the heater tap studs and a blank in the casting between the studs . Drill out the blank in the casting and swap the heater tap retaining studs plus heater tap and gasket from the Mini head to the Metro one. I usually use the Metro distibutor , especially if its electronic . The wires just need switching round thats all . Obviously if funds allow a rebuild is a good idea. I recommend at least replacing the HEAD GASKET , engine mounts ,thermostat , water pump, clutch , oil and air filters and any relevant gaskets required. If your swapping a 998 for a 1275 a uprated rad is a good idea. Dave

on a more serious note if your putting the engine into a clubby you can keep all of the cooling gear from the metro as you can put the metro front radiator and electric fan in the front no worries without putting a fan on the engine fanpulley. S

apparently there is a metro rad that has both outlets on the passenger side which helps fitment . The racers use them.
Not a lot of point really when one of the supper cool side mount rads from minispares are more than adequate for a tuned roadcar.
