Hi,
I decided a while ago to stay with LRP whilst I could still get it.
I found out this week that TESCO Hastings are stopping it next week - I assume that all TESCOs are stopping it.
Maybe I need to drive further to find another source - but Maybe the time has come to jump to unleaded.
What's best - I've heard that the lead additives are OK, but some internet sites say that you have to stick with the same brand. I've also heard about permanent devices in the tank. Or fitting an Unleaded Head.
I think I may go for the additives - if I do, do I use Super Plus Unleaded or Standard Unleaded?
What does everyone else do? My Mini has a standard 998cc engine.

Hi Rob, before i changed the head i just used to put in very high quality Unleaded. The higher the octaine rating the better.
Normal unleaded is normally about 95, but the good stuff like is around 97-98.
Another option is to change the head. Try Ebay, or the scapyard. I know someone who might be able to do the job for a cheaper price.
I could just walk round the corner to you desk at work to tell you this!

Hi,
Well - on my first tank full of unleaded and Castrol Valvemaster Plus I did the convoy last night - car ran fine - might have been my imagination but it seemed to go better than usual - maybe the octane boost does make some difference.
