Anyone know much about MPI's, I've been reading some bit and pieces and come to some conclusions.
The ECU is pants and limits the fuel delivery and revs, so any gas flowed head, high lift rockers etc just lead to a lean fuel mixture and a damaged engine.
Replacement reprogram-able ECU's are £900odd, superchips (£300), I'm still looking into?
So does anyone out there know anything about fuel injection, MPI's and tuning?

Simon, Fit an older engine and carbs. as long as the engine is pre cat (i.e. you will need a heritage cert as proof) then you can remove the cat and have higher emmisions at MOT time. Ask any MOT tester. Alternativly try a DIY Megasquirt ECU megasquirt.co.uk/megasquirt.info/N

Very interesting ECU's. Like the idea of a laptop on the passenger seat and self tuning the car. Replacing the engines not really what I'm after. I'm happy with what i've got. Just interested in how it all works and how to tweek out that little bit more, if the day came. ;D
