hi can anybody help me? my car is cutting out when its been idling for a while. it goes ok and feels like normal but when its ticking over it starts to die until i rev it a little. im sure its something simple but i havn't a clue. thanks alot -matt-

i had the same problem years ago, i turned the jet nut just one flat and it ran a lot better. but you may have just a little bit of crud stuck in the carb it just shifts when you press the gas so it clears then it comes back.

You could make sure the vacuum pipe from carb to dizzy is on. The black right angled connector at either end of the pipe can split and the pipe comes out ,its quite common. If the pipe is off the revs will drop. Although it sounds as though it may just be that its gone out of tune . Turn the idle screw a touch to lift the revs to get around until you can get the idle and mixture adjusted properly. Dave

cheers dave and rizla for ya suggestions, iv checked the vacume pipe its still where it should be and iv tryed the idle screw adjuster the revs pic up but the problem is still there. thanks anyway most thankful but it looks like im goin to hav to take the carb apart... oh well first time for everything lol -matt-

All is good ;D i got sum carb cleaner that mixes with the fuel and seems to have hit the nail on the head and i adjusted the idle speed abit but all seems to be well so far (touch wood) lol catch ya later -Matt-
