Hi there. Has anyone had any experience of making their own dashboard? I've seen some plans on the web, like this one www.niksula.cs.hut.fi/~mdobruck/siililand/mini/diy/alien/dash/scott/minidash.html which seems a good starting point. Has anyone got any suggestions for accurately positioning the holes for the instruments or a method of fixing the dash to the mini? Even better has anyone got a mini dash they've not fitted that I could use as a template? Here's my current thoughts on making it look good. I've got a couple of pieces of that Red Carbon look alike self adhesive sheeting which could look cool and I thought I might try and adapt 3 anodised tax disk holders to go over the instruments. Andy

Stephen, I'd love to have a peek at the dash you've made as well as the instructions. What did you make the dash out of? Did you put new instruments in or use the existing ones?

Hi tiz,
I made the dash from 9mm mdf, i haven't cut out any holes for guages yet although I was planning to use my original rover guages plus some smaller auxilary guages. - just reading one of ur earlier messages, i really wouldn't use sticky back carbon look stuff- we sell it at halfords it never ends up good. I have a shanfered edge on the top of the dash and a small dip where the bottom of the ash tray goes but I've never tried to fit it as I got impatient and bought one instead. Stephen
