Erm let me think...... That will be a no from me I had to do one a couple of years back on my white mini and then I went a wrote the car off about a week later Still... have you got discs or drums? I usually find them easier to do with the hub of the car with the aid of a vice a block of wood and a bloody big hammer N

hi darren ,i dont think your problem is your wheel bearing,as when we went 4 a little run the other day when we set up your timing, to me it sounds like maybe a shoe, tell me does it do it from cold first thing in the morning say,i would think that if it was a bearing going it would be tight and squeeking from the off,say lack of grease if it does not squeek and is free to turn from the off,it may be that the bearing is to tight,as it had work done on the area laterly.it realy needs checking sooner than later.billyboy ;D

Hi Bill, Its not a constant squeak and no it dosent start from cold, it can go for a couple of days without squeaking and over days it will start a couple of miles in to the jorney! Darren

had to replace a front wheel bearing on a 98 sportspack at work last week. Knocked the old bearing races out and found out why the bearing was so loose. The hub was badly worn. It was so bad that some cowboy had tried to weld the outer bearing race into position.Once I broke the welds knocking the old race out I found the race would drop into the hub. a new hub from Caffyns is £250. A new one from Minispares just £65.00 trade, including vat a post. dave

hi dave, the run on sunday was good ,funny enough i ejoyed the alterative rout, lol.until some one said we were lost, never been to brooklands before.i also enjoyed the aviation side they had, reference wheel bearing you changed, never seen the welding trick done before, ive popped and locktited the housing before, how onearth did they think they were going to keep the bearing central so they could weld it in situ, logic must have told them it would not last that long,ah well it takes all types don't it dave, billyboy, ;D
