1000 miles done, a camping and cycling trip to Devon, gate crashed Goodwood on the way back. All good so far, lots of smiles, sounds uncannily like the Green One when the supercharger comes on song.... Attachments:

It was for 'fun' although the weather was atrocious... We were hoping for dry, dusty and fast, it was driving rain, rivers of mud and a 1700 foot climb... Rewarding though and a good time with some close buddies...

Very nice, so is this car instead of the BMW. Of have you still got that as a tow car
The brakes on these cars and very good, I did my front disc and pads , I put standard discs and green stuff pads more to have less brake dust, got the back to do soon.
Other than a rear anti roll bar bushes, from a knocking noise at the back.
I am the same as you about shocks and springs, I would like that lower stance, but I use my car for every thing, so lowering it will restrict me
Mod wise, have you looked into one of those bluefin plug and play things, or even a crank pulley.
I love the lohan stuff, I seem to check that website every now and then.

It's now my main car, the Beemer went in March to be replaced by an Alfa 159 estate which i got bored with very quickly. Got rid of the Alfa, bought Mini! No tow vehicle at present. I think the JCW already has a smaller pulley on the Supercharger, it also has a factory remap to match. Engine mod wise I'll probably go for a better Intercooler first off.

I'd leave the engine standard as the jcw has a bigger inter cooler and smaller pulley combined with updated head cams and exhaust you would be swapping out update bits for very little gain
My car was fine on coilovers no rubbing at all until I added 20mm wheel spacers now I do get arch scrubbing but something I can live with for the look
You can also get a tow bar for it but its not type approved so you would be restricted as to what you can tow

It's the same size intercooler on the JCW, different supercharger, cylinder head, air-box, spark plugs, exhaust system and a re-mapped ecu. I wouldn't tow with it, VOSA are pretty tight these days and if they stopped you at a roadside inspection point you would be in big trouble for towing with a non-type approved set up. I only tow the car trailer occasionally and would use another vehicle for that. I'm going to investigate coil-overs, maybe if I keep a sensible ride height things might be ok...

AP coilovers are the way to go.
Ditch the run flats and 17s like I said, it's transformed mine.
