Due to a lack of interest on my part I've decided to sell my 1978 Pageant blue pick-up project. Here's a brief history.... First registered on 08/03/1978 and then used on a farm in Lincolnshire. 2 Owners previous to me (I have their addresses) Still has all body identity plates and original 850 engine.
Now, at some point it was taken off the road and a restoration was started.....the drivers side front wing,inner & outer A panels,lower body side and rear of rear arch / under light panels were replaced. The car was completely stripped to a bare shell and the parts were stored in various boxes.
I brought car in September this year with the idea to change the engine to a Fiat Punto 1242 engine and 5 speed box and then drive it to the IMM2013,since then I have carried on the restoration by.....replacing the passenger side front wing,inner & outer A panels,inner & outer sill,lower body side,front floor pan and the drvers side complete front to rear floor with inner and sill, the driver seat crossmember and the driver side complete rear wheel arch.
The original engine has at some time been stripped down but unfortunatley it has been left somewhere damp and the bores and crank tail are rusty,the condition of the gearbox is unknown.
The drivers door needs the skin replacing and lower frame rebuilding (both panels supplied) The passenger door is in pretty good order aprt from a small dent above the top hinge and a small rust patch on the bottom frame.
The load bed is OK with some small holes,the underside has surface rust but is structurally sound.
I have started to buy new parts for the rebuild which include... 4x 4.5x10 silver Cooper S steel wheels. 4x G-Max gas shocks. Set of Adjuster-ride/hi-Lo's Rear taper wheel bearings Rear brake shoes + fitting kit. Reae brake cylinders Rear extended Goodriche brake hoses. Front and rear subframe polyurothane mounts.
I think the majority of the parts are there to complete the rebuild,the parts which are missing are the front an rear windscreens and steering column.
Also included is a 998 engine (in bits but very good condition) with a 12G202 head,twin 1 1/4"s,very good std/std crank,new +.030 rings,very good +.030 pistons and block,steel centre main strap and a whole load of other mini spares.
There is still a lot of work to be done but someone else will enjoy the finished car
