Hi there, My names Colin I have just got another mini ;D, 1980 with a 1380, uprated brakes etc, Drove it home today and now i have an issue getting into gear so i bled the clutch still to no avail, Now i have freeplay in the clutch pedal, Any ideas

Hi Colin and welcome to EDMC. Did you bleed the clutch correctly.....you may have now put air into the system. Also check that the slave cylinder is bolted down tightly to the clutch housing. Is there any play/wear in the clutch arm pivot. Is there any play/wear in the clutch release bearing.

Check for any leaks. Was it starting to play up before it went. What was the clutch pedal like before hand.
But does sound like air. Are all the master cylinder, pipes and slave cylinder in good condition.
I take it all has clean fluid , but what condition was it in before you changed it.
Have you played with the gap on the end of the clutch housing where that big nut is. There should be a set gap. Haynes manual will stat what it should be.
Can be a few things but start with the simplist thing first and work from there

Problem fixed by Colin's wife hehe, pin had fallen out at top of clutch pedal, :-)
