I get the fact that it's not going to be a concours car, but... Oversills look rubbish, they don't vent the sill and if you do ever decide to sell it people may think you are trying to hide something.. I appreciate that you would be not be slapping them over the rot like botchers used to do but still, and as Steven says, they ain't expensive!! Putting oversills on your pick-up would be like putting pvc windows on a newly thatched cottage... Great progress by the way!!!!

Its going to have a Fiat Punto engine put in it so what does it matter what sills its got on it. If people want to waste their time laying on the floor telling me what sills it should and should'nt have on it then thats fine by me,i shall'nt be losing any sleep over it. Basically its mine and i'll do what I like to it.

Good progress today starting with cutting out the end of the heel board, making a repair panel and welding it in. Then I repaired the small bracket in front of the rear subframe mounts, rebuilt the return on the end of the heel board and repaired the load bed drain. Then I wire brushed the inner sill, inside of door step and inside of outer sill and sprayed them with cold galvanising zinc primer. Ive "joggled" a lip onto the join for the lower side repair panel and tacked it into place to check the door to step gap. It looks pretty good so tomorrow i'll finish welding the door step and outer sill.

First off ,thanks to Paul1275 for donating the front wing. So where were we..... Ive now replaced the nearside inner and outer A panels and front wing Then when we visited the Mini Action day I got the off side door skin, door bottom repair and both rear complete wheel arches. Ive tried to relace the front driver floor but while sitting on the seat crossmember I noticed it was so thin it was bulging under my weight (fat comments expected) and also on closer inspection the rear floor was passed it,so I took the plunge and ordered a complete front to rear floor with inner and outer sills and a half seat crossmember from Minisport. Today ive cut out the old floor & crossmember and started fitting the new one. I should complete it tomorrow and maybe make a start on the rear arches.

We had quite a productive day on the Pick-Up today.. We cut out the rusty drivers side rear wheel arch. And welded in a new saloon wheel arch which had to have the bottom edge trimmed to suit the Pick-Up load floor. Looking better. We've got to do the same to the passenger side as well.
