Hi all, this will be my next project...... We're off to collect it on Saturday from just outside Skegness in Lincolnshire. It was found by a friend of mine who now lives in that area and knows the owner,he also knew I was looking for a pickup. Its 90% complete but all in bits in boxes so there could turn out to be a bit more missing but the owner does have the V5,VIN and weight plates for it. The vague plan at the moment is to repair/restore/repaint and fit my 1242 Punto engine and hopefull drive it to the IMM in Italy in May 2013.......so you know where i'll be for the next 35 weekends. If it ends up something like this i'll be very happy

You lucky bugger. Bet you got it at a good price as well,
Early morning for you Saturday to get up there and back. I take it the grey mini has gone now???
That's was a great car.
I take it with the pick up its going back semi standard but with all the suspension tweets and brake like what you did on the grey mini.
Mini machine are the best place to get panels for pick ups. And with that I would make some kind of spit, it will make life 100X better and easier . With your type of work being around building site, scaffolding parts will be easy to get hold of.
Good luck with it, should be good to see the progress as wel know you don't hang about and it will be done in no time.

Looks like a lot of work there. I hope you manage to keep some of the orignality in your restoration. Also it looks like a post 76 single bolt subframe shell?
Let me know what bits you are missing as I have quite a few spares at the moment.

Bloody hell.....that was a long day. We left home at 06:30 and got home at 20:15 after driving 200 miles each way to collect the pickup.....but we're very happy with it. Its in a totaly stripped down state with all the bits in buckets and boxes which will need a lot of sorting. A nice surprise was a brand new unused set of 7x13 Ultralite alloys with 175/50x13" Yokohama tyres which I may sell on as big wheels on Minis aint my thing.

Passenger side heel board exterior.....needs end rebuildig Lower rear quater to be replaced. Lower rear arch. Under passenger rear light. Rear load bed.....very solid. Driver rear arch....to be replaced. Front wing/A panel......bye bye Nice repair. Front drivers wing/A panel/inner A panel been replaced, surface rust only Floor pan & door step trial fit......looking better all ready. Door step/Lower side trial fit. Passenger sill trial fit. Over/wide sills are fine by me,they came with it. I'm not fussed about "Heritage this and M-Machine that",its not going to be a concourse car just a clean & tidy fun drive.

Genuine sills as cheap enough though. With the effort you'll put into this it'll be worth it! Look forward to the updates
