heya, i am james, i am still learning to drive. i previously owned a 1989 mini racing flame but unfortuantly a van was not paying attention and went into the back of the old girl , however i have now bought a "1972" morris mini 850.it is a 1275 though with a different cam (not sure what one as was done by the previous owner). she is in gas shocks with hi-lows and mini lites . it has also got drilled and grooved discs. i am in the process of putting bucket seats and 3 point harnesses in her. the colour is very different as it is porsche mint green with the black roof. as i have said i am 17 years old and learning to drive. i have always been into classic cars and am a car nut. i wanted a mini when i saw the price of insurance and saw what could be done to them, now i have owned two i will be owning them for many many more years to come , if you have any questions feel free to message me regards james Attachments:

I know that car. Used to park around lower meads near the congress. I think the owner was in the club a few years back.

welcome
i seen that mini about before.
when do you think your pass your test,
sounds like you like your new car, do go too crazy modding it too early as the insurance company wont touch you, and not telling them voids your insurance.
i been there and so have a lot of us, we were all young once. so we know what your going through
what other plans do you have for your car,
is it on the road yet and driving it on L plates, i did when i was learning
start up a photobucket account, up load your photos on there and your be able to bigger photos and more that 1 at a time

It was rebuilt by an old member, Gary in Hailsham, as a tribute to one of his mates in 2007 ish. It's an H reg Studio 2 I think, there's pics on the members section.
I went to school with Stacey and know her brother well.
Should be a nice car once fully restored. Would definitely recommend ripping it apart to fix the body before spending cash on the seats though, I'd imagine it is very rotten underneath by now as was only a quick fix up in 2007. Not wishing to piss on your bonfire, I'm sure will make a great project.

how much for insurance a month, i pay just over that for me a julie on my bini a year, thats a shocker
so its had a v5c change , did the seller tell you that,
its very common, its so you dont pay car tax, on a later shell.
you see people on ebay alot selling later injection mini cooper's as 1965 mk1 etc, when its not, there are so many difference is its easier to say what is the same, and thats not much, the name the shape.
really they should say its been reshelled. people get away with it as its only a mini.
not anything to worry about just your saving £120 a year in tax, bonus, and once you hit 25 you can get classic car insurance which will be around £100-£150 A YEAR
like stephen says, do waste your money buying bits and cheap chrome parts, spend your money getting the body work straight first,

I remember Gary's Mini . Last saw him at a Autojumble 2 years ago .
Crack on James . Keep it subtle , less is more on a Mini .
Keep away from shiny crap for sale on trade stalls at shows . The best parts available are the original spec parts . By your parts once only and buy the best available . You will buy some parts that are identical to more expensive items , I can gaurantee the more expensive one will be much better quality and you will wish you had bought that in the first place .
If at all unsure of a part and its quality ask me, Dean , Paul1275's and Stephen amongst others for a opinion ....
