we had a talk about this about as year or so ago, i have had people pick up a mini engine and put it in the boot of a mk1 mircait weighed it down but nothing different than having 2 or 3 people in the back.
1 thing you may ask them to do before you pick it up is for them to drain the oil out completly, its not a nice thing to have an engine fall over abd 5 litres of oil engine oil going all over your boot
we did say a complete engine weighs around 150kg, its a good 2 person lift but much easier with 3. any good family car will carry it like ant said, best if you know some one with a people carrier as the boot lip is flat so you dont have to lift it up over and down into the boot.
also a very handy thing i use is a flat bed tolly, a thick board or planks, with a set of local tolly wheels, works a treat and makes moving it around much much easier.

Yes micra engines are very light, and not to much work to get power out of a standard ma engine, out of the mark 1 micra. I was tempted to put the 1.2 engine in my clubby estate, to match my race car engine which has 94bhp in 2nd gear on a standard engine. I have a 1 litre ma10 engine if your interested? Lol

I have heard of people removing the front passenger seat of a mini and putting blocks of wood on the floor to clear the cross members and transporting a mini engine that way. Alternativly they fit in the back of mini pickups OK. actually you can probably get 2 in at the same time if they are fitted with rod change gearboxes N
