just because you replaced it a couple of months ago don't mean its still good now. could have been a faulty gasket or a something else more sinister.

N. yup just saying it wasnt first on my list of things that couldve been wrong but anyway on the plus side i took it upon myself to change it , i know many would reccomend agaisnt this as i am a novice but its done and running now, just going to check the valve clearance as i didnt really know what i was doing but hopefully be ready for minis by the sea

if your head gasket went that quick, your head maybe out of true, and will need reskimming to get it flat again,
i use sussex engine centre in eastbourne he knows what he is doing and normal skims only what it needs for around £40
you may find it will go again if your head is not flat.
did you clean the 2 surfaces before putting the new gasket on

There was a bad batch of BK450s out there about a year ago so possibly could have been one of those.

well done mate its the best way to learn ,by doing it your self and with the advice of people in the club makes it a bit easyer dean is teaching me all about gear boxs at the mo cheers dean delly
