This stuff is great. Basically if you have some surface rust, you wire brush the loose stuff off and give it a good clean, then you can just paint this over the top. It comes out like milk then turns a blue / green colour when it hits the metal / surface rust. You do a few coats then it will turn black on the rusty bits and clear on the metal, getting rid of the surface rust. You can then paint straight over the top with primer or base coat, and it protects the metal from further rust, hopefully! Obviously won't ever stop rust, but slows it up.
