I bought a '94 1275 carb mini mayfair last year blind on ebay to supply me with transport before i started uni. The car didnt fault once, engine starts first time and drives superb. A new sill was welded in recently before its MOT last week in preparation for the L2B this year. The car failed on Rear corroded subframe, corroded rear brake pipes. Corroded seat belt and seat joints (cannot find rust), front subframe top mounts have excessive movement, front driveshaft gaitors are split, indicators failed to work(for the first time ever on MOT day!) Needs a drivers side bumpstop. Advisories were in the form of remarks against the front end fitment of brace bars for the grp font end. Otherwise the car is sound. The car has covered 50,000 miles, fitted with near enough new 13x7 revolutions with pirellis, body work is in good order with the odd dent from car parks and rust in the window sill from slightly dropped windows. The car looks fantastic when waxed up, and has incredibly good interior. Would it be worth fixing the car? ideas of cost for the work? Or any sensible offers? Al. Attachments:

Take it to a mini friendly back street garage and the work will not be too much I would guess 600 - 800 pounds inc parts
Where did you MOT it? not all garages are mini friendly.

also if you can patch the rear subframe the buil could be considerably reduced by 3-400

I had it MOT'd at Little london garage just north of Horam nr Hailsham. Bit of a mistake i think, there seems to be no rust on any of the seatbelt location points as stated or seat mounts as previously mentioned. Do you know of any back street mini friendly garages or enthusiasts willing to carry out the work as the work i had carried out on it before was half cut, Owlsburys coachworks crowborough, dont go there.
With no MOT im unsure of how much its worth, about £1000-1200? Perhaps with the work done to it with an mot id like about £1800. Being at university money is pretty tight as it is, let alone throwing it at a mini project!

Can I come and have a look this weekend? It would be worth more with an MOT but if you are not doing the work yourself will probably make more money selling as is. I'll send you a PM.

;Dpersonally i would get the work done, from experiance, i sold Mingie (search forum lol) which needed work then brought another one which needed twice as much work, sold that and got roger, which in turn cost around 3000 to put right after a blind buy of ebay.
I now have Leanns city e to rebuild, which if you look at the pictures is a major project,
So keep it, im sure there will be willing helpers to help you out

The latter... can't say too much yet but don't worry, it's gone to a good home and you'll all see it soon
